CRITERIA - NATIONAL COMPONENT HUMAN RIGHTS ANNUAL AWARD

  1. The person nominated shall be a member or former member of the National Component and must have shown extraordinary conduct in promoting human rights for all.
  2. Nominations shall be made by the Executive of a Local, the National Executive of the National Component or the Human Rights Committee of the National Component.
  3. Nominations should be on the appropriate application form and shall be submitted to the National Component no later than November 30th each year.
  4. All applications for a Human Rights Award shall be referred to the National Component Human Rights Committee. This Committee shall review all applications and make recommendations to the National Executive. (05/04)
  5. All decisions on the awarding of the Human Rights Award shall require a two-thirds majority of the National Executive, voting by secret ballot at the first regular Executive meeting of the following year.
  6. Presentation of the award shall be made by the President of the National Component (or designated representative).
  7. No more than one award shall be presented per year.
  8. The award shall consist of a suitably framed achievement award certificate.
  9. No individual shall be the recipient of the award more than once.
  10. After the presentation of the award a picture and a brief write-up shall be inserted in the next issue of the Component Newsletter and shall be provided to the publication Alliance.
